Microsoft Silverlight 2 Beta 2 now available for download

Microsoft has finally released the beta 2 of Microsoft Silverlight 2.

There are some great new and improved features like:

More Built-in Controls
Controls like Button, ListBox, Slider and more
Control Template Editing Support
You are able to alter the look and feel of controls
Visual State Manager (VSM) Support
This makes it easier to build interactive control templates
Input Support
It will also support inking and stylus input support
UI Automation and Accessibility
It enables screen readers and other assistive tools to identity and interact with the components of your application
Animation and Graphics System
Support for animating custom dependency properties and object animation
DeepZoom
Support a XML based manifest file for DeepZoom collections
WPF Compatibility
Includes fixes and changes to improve API compatibility

It also has a lot of media improvements:

Adaptive Streaming
Content Protection
Server side playlists

And there are also Network improvements:

Cross Domain Sockets
Background thread networking
Duplex communication
Web Services
ADO.NET Data Services
JSON

And finally some data improvements:

DataGrid,
DataBinding
Isolated Storage
