MOSS Backup and Restore Tools

There are a lot of ways to backup your MOSS environment. When it comes to Farms you will even need more then one backup and restore system. Some backup and restore mechanisms like the inbuild one in MOSS itself depends on how you actually divided your content structure over site collections. I composed  the following list of backup and restore tools, based on some great posts like the one of Joel Oleson.

Native backup & Restore products for all your databases. Like SQL Backup and SQL Safe
  • SQL 2005 Database Mirroring
Mirroring of your data for location, data, and hardware fault tolerance issues
  • SharePoint Backup and Restore

  • Data Protection Manager 2007
A complete Microsoft solution with System Center Data Protection Manager (DPM) 2007 for ways to protect and recover SharePoint collaboration infrastructures.
  • Farm and Granular Backup and recovery tool DocAve

  • SharePoint Farm backup and granular recovery tool Commvault Solutions

  • Neverfail tool which provides End-to-End High Availability and Disaster Recovery for SharePoint Environments
