SharePoint 2010 sneak preview

Posted by admin

Thanks to my good friend and old collegea Ferry, i came across a website at Microsoft where you are able to get a sneak preview of the new SharePoint 2010 (pronounced as SharePoint twenty-ten). A cool video with some nifty demo’s of the new environment is shown and gives a really good impression of some of the new functionality of SharePoint 2010.

A few things which i think are looking really good are:

  • A totally renewed Web Part gallery. Looks more sofisticated
  • A new way of editing your page (by choosing tabs for browsing, editing and other stuff
  • The ribbon as we know from Office 2007 is totally integrated into SharePoint 2010. It will give a blast to the current users of SharePoint. Finally the product is getting more user-friendly and the User eXperience is getting much better
  • Silverlight Web Part is made available
  • Uploading, selecting, rescaling and editing images is really improved. This was always one of my major concerns in current projects. It just wasn’t working that well. Now it seems to be improved. Something i dare to share with my customers ;)
  • And a lot more….

Just have a look for yourself.

To see more you must definitly go to the SharePoint Conference 2009. A lot will be there unrevealed about SharePoint 2010. I myself will be there to. hopefully we can meet!!
